The five stages, knowing them, makes the path much easier.
Preparation phase: In this phase, the individual starts playing with the idea of losing weight, and slowly begins to prepare themselves for the weight loss journey by examining their own eating and exercise habits. They start using motivational techniques and seek the company of those who encourage them.
Information phase: In this phase, the individual gathers information about healthy eating habits and physical activity. They try to learn what types of food they should consume, in what quantity and how frequently. Additionally, they inquire about physical activities that they believe would suit their needs.
Decision phase: Those who move beyond this phase have already won half the battle, as the decision to embark on a weight loss journey is made in the mind. However, this phase is also the critical point where most people give up due to various reasons such as comfort, lack of motivation, environmental factors, lack of support, but most of all fear. The fear of losing weight is stronger than the fear of remaining in their current form. The fear of losing weight is actually the rejection of change and the fear of change. Do you also dislike change?!
Action phase: In this phase, the individual begins to implement the lifestyle change, following their plans, making their eating and exercise habits regular, and trying to avoid temptation. They learn how to cope with difficulties that may arise during the new lifestyle change.
Maintenance phase: In this phase, the individual continues with their healthy eating and exercise habits, and learns to maintain his achievements. He is able to stay motivated and regularly monitor his weight, while also assessing the changes. He recognizes that this is a long-term process and continues to seek support and hold on to every little help to maintain their commitment.
It is important to note that every person is unique, and the process and phases of weight loss may vary depending on personal circumstances and needs.
