The DECISION

Can you imagine yourself with the perfect figure?

The big decision (which is generally described by those who have already been through this journey as being "made in the mind") - you were able to make it because you have already moved from dreaming to visualization. And the more you imagined, the more familiar the image created by your imagination became. What is familiar is less scary. The brain protects us from the unknown, because it is encoded for survival, so it must somehow stop you from killing yourself. Therefore, it generates fear for everything that is unknown. But you tricked it, because you kept imagining your perfect body until everything slowly took shape and the image came to life in your head. The image became familiar to your brain. After all, we think in images. So your brain no longer resisted, it no longer discouraged you.

Then you begin to get more and more into the idea. It feels good to bathe in the image you have created for yourself, which fully meets your expectations.

At first, it feels like the Himalayas are towering in front of you to climb. Unimaginable.

The first thought that crosses your mind is, "ahh, I'm not capable of this." Then, genetically, we are all coded for a kind of addiction to suffering. We like to suffer. That's why you keep going back to your imaginary great accomplishment, like a pig to the mud. Roll around in suffering a bit more. Then one day, you find yourself no longer finding joy in this kind of suffering, rather you become impatient, a little irritated. What the heck, why I should just thinking about it?  Why couldn't this be reality, realization?!

This is when the window opens, when a gap appears in the shield, when you can make a decision, actually that is the moment when  something clicks in your mind, and decision is born that you will start your weight loss journey. This is what they mean by saying that the success of a diet is determined in the mind. Essentially, it means making a decision that you will stick to.

Many people make the mistake of talking about their plans and intentions too soon, in their excitement that they have made a decision, before actually starting to work towards their goal. This is extremely dangerous because you give away the energy of the motivation within you, causing the enthusiasm that should drive your decision to dwindle. Don't give up, keep it to yourself so you can build up the momentum needed to achieve your goal. It's a long road ahead, and you'll need this energy.
